Over the last two weeks, Alex Ovechkin has made news but not for his goalscoring. The Russian machine got national headlines for a kind gesture he made to a homeless man and starting a political movement (Team Putin) for Russian president Vladimir Putin.
But on Saturday, Ovechkin thankfully got back to doing what he does best SCOARING GOALS. And he got a little help from his friends… er, comrades.

The Caps’ Russian three all combined to make the goal happen. After Evgeny Kuznetsov found Dmitry Orlov at the point, Orlov gave the puck right back. Kuznetsov then immediately found Ovechkin in his office for career goal number 569.
The goal, Ovechkin’s 11th, ended a personal five-game scoreless streak for the Russian machine.
Ovechkin punched the glass in celebration.
Ovechkin now sits in third place in goals league wide, and trails only Nikita Kucherov (13) and John Tavares (12).
