Alex Ovechkin and Andre Burakovsky have always had an, uh, special friendship and that continued Saturday night in Philadelphia.
During warmups, Ovechkin was captured by NBC Washington cameras skating into and then gently shoving the Burracuda. Burakovsky, potentially still feeling cocky from his first NHL fight the night before, responded by grabbing Ovechkin’s collar.
Boys will be boys.
The two had words. There was some playful cursing, some sarcastic Yeah, yeahs, and some smiles too. These two are ridiculous.
This continues a very handsy love/hate relationship between the two. Last season, Ovechkin showed off his leadership by cuddling Burakovsky during the polar vortex. A week later, during a charity event, Ovechkin gave the Burracuda an aggressive back rub.
