Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his ninth goal of the season during the Capitals 5-2 beatdown of the New Jersey Devils.

Ovechkin now leads the league in goals by four, but there’s another stat that puts in perspective just how dominant the Russian machine has been so far this season.

By the end of the night, Ovechkin had more goals than seven: Dallas (8), Vancouver (7), Edmonton (7), San Jose (7), Boston (7), Carolina (6), and Montreal (5).
