Hot mics are always fun and on Tuesday, Nathan MacKinnon drew the ire of an official after complaining about a holding penalty.

So far in the preseason, NHL officials have been much more strict about calling penalties for slashing, obstruction, and face-off violations, and that appears to have frustrated the Avs star.
“Colorado number 29, two minutes for holding,” official Reid Anderson said over the loudspeaker.
After muffled complaining can be heard, Anderson, as if he’s a father reprimanding his son, tells MacKinnon: “Get in there!” There being the penalty box.
MacKinnon smiled in the box.
This isn’t the first time a ref has been caught lecturing over the loudspeaker. During a Dallas Stars game on October 5, 2013, referee Mike Leggo said, “You can’t do that” to Shawn Horcoff after the forward obstructed Jay Beagle.
