Saturday, on the second day of Caps training camp, Andre Burakovsky bled his own blood after an incident involving his fellow countryman, Nicklas Backstrom.
NHL.com’s Tom Gulitti reported the news.

Monday night during the Caps first preseason game against the Devils, an NBC Sports Washington camera captured Burakovsky on the bench, where he showed off a nasty scab on his bottom lip.
This isn’t the first time the Burakovsky has had a bloody mouth. Last January, during a regular season game against the Carolina Hurricanes, Burakovsky spit blood after being high-sticked in the mouth. It was feared Burakovsky lost a tooth, but during intermission, he revealed that all his chiklits were fine.
Meanwhile, after Monday’s game against the Devils, Burakovsky greeted former teammate Marcus Johansson outside of the team’s locker room. The two, who were close in Washington, hugged.

The Caps’ other Swede Nicklas Backstrom, who’s on Team Red, remained in DC where he worked out late at night with his trainer Andreas Öhgren.
