Nate Schmidt was slated to be in the Capitals’ top four this season, but instead was plucked by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft.
Now Schmidt is officially in Vegas, magical powers and all.
Amidst the preseason frenzy, the Golden Knights shared a video today on Twitter of Schmidt thanking fans in Washington.
“I’ve been on social media a lot lately,” Schmidt said. “I really appreciate all the support and everything from you guys in Washington, I really appreciate it.”

Still, our beautiful, smiley boy is excited about the opportunities that await him in Vegas.
“I couldn’t be more excited here to be a Vegas Golden Knight and get the season started,” he said.
Earlier this week, Schmidt participated in a photoshoot for Sharp Magazine where he once again showed off the personality that made him a fan favorite in Washington.
