Washington Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan has talked down the expansion-draft loss of Nate Schmidt all offseason long.
It’s “not as huge a deal as people are making it out to be,” MacLellan said to The Washington Post in July.
“Schmidt was more our sixth defenseman last year, and I don’t foresee that being a huge issue,” Mac added a month later to NHL.com.
Well I have bad news. Not only is Nate Schmidt a good defenseman, he’s also somehow acquired magical powers over the offseason.

Saturday night, the Vegas Golden Knights announced Schmidt had arrived in Las Vegas by posting the above video. Schmidt is shown wearing a suit with a bow tie and standing in several inches of water. As Schmidt holds his hand out, a wet floor signs flies through the air.

Schmidt already could puke rainbows, but this is significantly more impressive.
