Ten days ago, we reported that longtime Capitals reporter Jill Sorenson would not be back with CSN Mid-Atlantic next season. Several CSN employees we spoke to were dismayed by the news as were a wide swath of Capitals fans, who tweeted words of support to the award-winning journalist.
Earlier this week, Sorenson addressed the situation in a Tweet and chose to thank everyone for their kind words.
Jill wrote:
It is almost impossible to put into words how grateful I am for all the kind words and support I received this past week. To everyone who reached out personally, via social media, or posted comments, I thank you immensely. I am overwhelmed by your kindness. You all have made my heart feel full during what has otherwise been a difficult time.
Here’s a sampling of the replies.
Will miss your coverage, Jill. CSN's loss will be someone else's gain

Jill, you will definitely be missed. I've watched your local sports coverage for years and you are one of the best in DC hands down.

As I live on the other side of the Atlantic, I've never been to a game but you always made Caps games enjoyable and accessible. Thank you.
