22-year-old Andre Burakovsky has never scored 20 goals in a season, but that seems likely to change this year.
The Burracuda, who signed a two-year, $6 million bridge deal over the offseason, will likely have a much bigger role on the team with top-six forwards Marcus Johansson and Justin Williams gone. He also appears to have put in a ton of work over the offseason.
Monday, the Swedish forward showed off his box jumping skills. They are, in one word, ludicrous.
Video
First, Burakovsky shows off his one-meter box jumps on each leg. One meter probably means nothing to you since Americans don’t believe in the metric scale, so I’ll convert it into units you understand. That’s nearly 40 inches or three-and-a-half feet. That’s like 39 inches higher than Barry Trotz can jump.
In the next video, Burakovsky nearly hits his head on the ceiling as he does an even higher box jump with two legs.
Later in the day after he was done working out, the Swedish forward posted a portrait of himself wearing lifestyle gear for NOCCO, an energy drink he sponsors in Sweden.
Let’s get a quick sampling of the comments.
- i love you, ur cute, marry me

Former teammates Michael Latta and Nate Schmidt also posted.
“Pigeon,” chirped Latta.
Burakovsky’s comeback: “Hahaha coming from you ?”
Meanwhile, Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nate Schmidt was confused by Burakovsky’s attire.
“Are those the new caps gloves?!”
