You guys, Nate Schmidt is finally and officially a Vegas Golden Knight now. I’m sorry.
Saturday evening, Golden Knights’ general manager George McPhee accepted an arbitrator’s decision from earlier in the day and signed Schmidt to a two-year, $4.45 million. The contract will keep Schmidt in Las Vegas through the 2018-19 season. Schmidt’s cap hit is a super affordable $2.225 million.

Schmidt played parts of four seasons in Washington tallying eight goals in 200 games. He led the NHL in smiles during that time.

Schmidt was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft on June 21 (Washington Capitals).
