Dmitry Orlov wasn’t the only Capitals representative at Alex Ovechkin’s wedding.
Caps center Evgeny Kuznetsov was there. And so was longtime, huggy Ovechkin teammate Alex Semin. The duo was captured onstage by an onlooker during the wedding reception. The group, which included Orlov, Ilya Kovlachuk, and several others, awkwardly danced and laughed.

I know what you’re thinking. This is where I’d normally describe what’s going on and have a few key takeaways. Except I don’t have much of a clue what’s going on. I can say with certainty that there’s a performance of some kind going on, but then I’m just left with questions.
Like why, in a room full of rich famous people, is this specific collection of Russians on stage together? What is happening that is so funny? Why is Alex Semin now strutting towards a microphone-wielding Alex Ovechkin as if he’s Vince McMahon walking downing the ramp at Wrestlemania. Why does Semin, who everyone remembers as a pouty engima, the happiest guy in the room? He seemed so disinterested in forechecking at times in the past, and I, a happy person, hate being at other people’s weddings. Why is he having more fun than I would? Am I actually the pouty enigma?
Eventually I realized that my lack of understanding of this moment only enhanced what I was seeing. And then I decided to GIF.
It’s high art.
Things got progressively weirder after that.
Rapper T-Killah located Kuznetsov and Orlov later during the wedding reception. The trio then decided to rap one of T-Killah’s songs together.

This is also fantastic.
Sure, Alex Ovechkin’s wedding was fun. But as soon as Alex Semin walked into the door, the party became legendary.
