Of course Andre Burakovsky got chirped by Tom Wilson and Michael Latta after signing his new contract

Andre Burakovsky re-signed with the Capitals Tuesday. The two-year, $6 million deal that will keep the Swedish forward in Washington through the 2018-19 season.

Burakovsky was congratulated by several of his Caps teammates and NHL friends, but the tweeting quickly devolved into jokes about free food and new shoes.

The Capitals announced the news at 4 PM.

And then the fun between the brobeans began.

Burakovsky’s bestie, Calgary Flames prospect Rasmus Andersson, actually had something genuine to say.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Burakovsky’s former teammate and roommate, Michael Latta, chirped the top-six forward on Instagram while he worked out with his cousin.
