Pat Sajak attends Capitals Alumni Rooftop Bourbon & Cigars Fundraiser

Monday night, the Capitals hosted an Alumni Rooftop Bourbon & Cigars Fundraiser at the W Hotel in DC. According to the MSE Foundation, the alumni raised over $50,000 for scholarship opportunities for local high school hockey players.

Former big name Caps players such as Olie Kolzig, Peter Bondra, Rod Langway, Mike Knuble, and Dennis Maruk told stories from their long, distinguished careers and mingled with Caps fans. There was bourbon and cigar samplings and a live auction.

But there was one surprise guest in attendance who ended up being the biggest name of them all: Wheel of Fortune host and Caps season-ticket holder Pat Sajak.

On the Capitals Instagram account, the team posted video of Sajak making jokes with the Red Rockers.

The famous game-shot host has a home in Severna Park, Maryland, and attends Caps games at Verizon Center when he’s not in Culver City, California.

Other notable players at the event include CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Craig Laughlin and Alan May.

Highlights of the live auction included the Knuble’s Knights (AKA the Brouwer Rangers AKA TJ Yoshie and Mario) winning a photo of Mike Knuble. Kanoobs then signed the print with the inscription “To my Knights, thank you for your service,” which is amazing

Meanwhile fellow RMNB co-founder Peter Hassett won this immaculate, one-of-a-kind Caps jersey signed by Cal Ripken, Jr. and I cannot even handle my jealousy right now.
