New Washington Capitals jersey and hat designs leak before official Adidas launch

LAS VEGAS — As the NHL was getting ready to officially unveil the new Adidas jerseys for all 31 teams, including the Vegas Golden Knights’ first ever jersey, images of the new sweaters and the 2018 Draft hats leaked online.

The Capitals updated game wear has minimal changes, simply moving from the previous Reebok template to the new Adidas one after the latter became the official outfitter of the NHL.

The jersey features a mesh area from the shoulders up and appears to make for a tighter fit over players’ pads over the Reebok version. The Adidas logo is emblazoned under the collar on the back of the jersey.

The Capitals, like all other teams, will not wear third jerseys this year due to production issues cited by Adidas.

The new hats are a simple affair, bright red with the team’s primary logo on the crown. There is a band around hat is modeled after the sleeves of the team’s jersey, featuring a red, white, and blue. The left side of the hat features the Adidas logo.
