Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan to meet with the media on Tuesday

It’s been 17 days since the Capitals were eliminated in the second round by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Caps players and head coach Barry Trotz spoke to the media on breakdown day, but general manager Brian MacLellan stayed mum. Now, after completing a “thorough evaluation” of the team, MacLellan is finally ready speak to reporters.

CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Tarik El-Bashir was the first to report the news.

According to El-Bashir, MacLellan will meet with the media on Tuesday after the Memorial Day weekend. A Caps spokesman says that he will do so at noon.

He will have a lot to talk about, including two stories that broke Saturday afternoon.

Sportsnet’s John Shannon said on NHL Network radio that the Capitals and TJ Oshie are near a new deal. Meanwhile the Capitals will be hosting an Outdoor Game at the Naval Academy.
