Garrett Mitchell is set to play in his NHL debut tonight. Minutes ahead of puck drop between the Caps and Panthers, the Hershey Bears shared video of the moment when Mitchell first learned of his call-up.
Warning: this is emotional.

“Troy came in and let every know the schedule for stuff,” Mitchell said in his own words. “He said Chandler was going to get called up and then said I had been waiting six years to get the call.
“The way [Troy] did it was amazing,” Mitchell continued. “It was in front of everybody. It couldn’t of been better.”
Mitchell’s Bears teammates clapped and yelled loudly when they heard the news.
The 25-year-old forward had played in 352 games for Hershey before learning his dream as a kid would finally come true.
