Four people died on Thursday after a stolen beer truck barreled into pedestrians on a busy Stockholm street. The suspected driver, a 39-year-old Uzbekistan-born man who had shown sympathy for extremist organizations, is being held on “suspicion of terrorist crimes through murder.”

Sunday night ahead of their game against the Panthers, the Capitals’ announced that their three Swedish players on the roster, Nicklas Backstrom, Marcus Johansson, and Andre Burakovsky, will all wear Swedish flags on their helmets in honor of the victims of the attack.

An emotional Burakovsky tweeted out his well wishes to the victims on Thursday.

Johansson did so Sunday night.
