If you are a DC sports fan, you have been spoiled by division titles in hockey, baseball, and football of late. Now the Wizards have added their own title on the hardwood.
The Zards’ 119-108 win against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 28 clinched the Southeast Division title for the first time since 1979. The Capitals’ 2-0 win over the New York Rangers on Wednesday night clinched the Metropolitan Division title for the Caps for the second year in a row.
Now both teams are obviously more concerned with how the final playoff seeds will turn out, but believe it or not, this is the first time that both teams have won their division in the same year. Ever.

Two championships coming to one city in the same year isn’t impossible, right?
