Remember the mess that was the 2016 election? No, not the presidential election. We’re talking about the Caps bobblehead election.
After a dog-eat-dog fight to choose the Caps next bobblehead elect, Braden Holtby reigned supreme over Tom Wilson and Justin Williams (despite the fact that most of the Caps team, including the winner himself, voted for Justin Williams).
Months later, it seems that Wilson is still not over losing.
Pretty cool that @Capitals fans get to take this @Holts170 #BobbleBeast home tomorrow! @tom_wilso‘s reaction = priceless. #NHLNow pic.twitter.com/tWKLkLKQu4

Wilson, bitter in defeat, backhands the bobblehead of his older, better-bearded teammate so that it falls pathetically to the table.
Wilson had been adamant that he was the right candidate for the bobblehead, saying during the election “I think I’d probably be the bobblehead because I’m younger, taller… can’t tell you I had better hair than Holts in his prime – but good hair.”
Still, despite his best efforts and the support of teammates Jay Beagle, Brooks Orpik, and Alex Ovechkin, Wilson ultimately lost in the popular vote among the Caps community, which instead chose the unstoppable Vezina-winning goalie to be immortalized with a small body and disproportionately large head.
Even though Wilson still hasn’t accepted the reality of the election results, fans can pick up the Holtby bobblehead featuring his net, flowing locks, and signature water bottle squirt when it is given away at tonight’s game against the Calgary Flames.
