Early in the second period, CSN Mid-Atlantic aired their nightly Thompson Creek Window Company’s Window Of Opportunity. On this night, they featured a clip from the Capitals’ morning skate which was incredible.
Head Coach Barry Trotz scored a goal on reigning Vezina Trophy winner Braden Holtby. And then he taunted his own goalie.
“The Caps do a drill where they shoot the puck intentionally wide,” Joe Beninati explained. “Barry Trotz loves to get involved and chase rebounds.”
“Whoa! The howdy-do!” Laughlin said laughing after watching Barry score.
“That’s a nice move on Braden Holtby,” Beninati responded.
“Nice-looking curl and drag! Barry Trotz was a tough defenseman,” Laughlin said. “Look at that guy.”
Trotz could not wipe the smile off his face.
