On Sunday, Andre Burakovsky made hockey headlines when he got into a car that wasn’t his Uber. But it was where Burakovsky was going that showed his mind was still in the right place. The Swedish forward, who broke his hand days earlier, went to the Loudoun Top Golf to hang out and watch his friends drive golf balls. He will be there again next week, but this time with most of the Caps roster.
This upcoming Monday from 2-5pm, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic is hosting an event called Wish Upon A Par. For $125, you can purchase a ticket and attend the event, which includes 2.5 hours of play and unlimited food and nonalcoholic beverages. But hurry, I’m told general admission tickets are going very fast. The event also is offering a rare and semi-inexpensive way to hang out with your favorite Caps player during the event.
You can bid to play with one of eight different pairs of Caps players, who will spend the day eating and golfing with you and three of your closest friends. You’ll get unlimited food, beer, and wine and the players will sign autographs and take photos.
You could golf with…
Bids start at $1,000 but if you divide that by four, it’s only $250 per person, which is honestly a great price for an opportunity like this.
Other key things to be aware of:
Earlier in the year, we raised close to $1,000 for Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic after auctioning off several prop items from Alex Ovechkin’s latest commercial shoot. I can tell you from experience, the people who work at Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic are very passionate about making a difference in kids’ lives. If you bid or buy a ticket, just know that your money is going to a good place and the organization’s staff is very committed to everyone having a good time.
