Dmitry Orlov leaves second period early after being high-sticked by Ryan Dzingel (GIFs)

Dmitry Orlov scored two goals on Monday. Tuesday, he felt the pendulum strike back in Ottawa.

During a late second period dump-in, Senators forward Ryan Dzingel attempted to level Orlov with a big hit late. Instead, Orlov countered and knocked Dzingel over. As Dzingel fell to the ice, he fell awkwardly and his stick struck Orlov in the side of the head.

Ouch.

Another replay provided by CSN Mid-Atlantic shows that Orlov got struck near the right ear and jaw.

Orly would return for the start of the third period.

Thank goodness.
