Thursday before a KHL game between Admiral Vladivostok and Amur Khabarovsk, guitarist Denis Kim of the group Starkillers performed the Russian national anthem while wearing a black Amur jersey.
Except Kim didn’t sing, he shredded the anthem like a bad Poison guitar solo.
The best Russian national anthem performance. pic.twitter.com/GoKPwUpJgE

That was… definitely a thing that just happened.
30 seconds into the performance, one of Amur’s goaltenders can be seen trying to hold back his laughter.
Unfortunately, the performance did not motivate Kim’s hometown team the way he might have hoped. Amur fell 2-0 to Admiral.
The KHL’s Twitter account observed that this was the “best” national anthem performance. But I’m going to have to disagree.
Jimi Hendrix forever.
