Sunday night, the Chiefs took on the Steelers for the opportunity to play the New England Patriots in the AFC Conference Championship. Midway through the second quarter, NBC showed a shot of the Arrowhead Stadium crowd in the lower bowl. There’s a bunch of Chiefs fans, a handful of Steelers fans, and hey, wait a minute!
Check out the bottom left. There’s a person wearing a Washington Capitals hoodie and Winter Classic beanie!

11:15pm update: Via an email, we’ve been told this is Brett Hines. Brett’s had season tickets to Chiefs games since the 80’s. He’s so hooked on the Caps that he wears Caps gear wherever he goes. Brett’s son is Tyler Hines, who is the Caps’ Game Entertainment Director.
Russian Machine Never Breaks is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
