Brooks Laich on Alex Ovechkin’s power outage: ‘Pay your bills buddy’

Thursday afternoon, Alex Ovechkin had an adventure getting to Verizon Center. After his home had a power outage, Ovechkin could not get his electric-powered gate to open, trapping him on his own property. It got to the point where Ovechkin had to climb a ladder, jump the fence, and get driven by Evgeny Kuznetsov to make the game on time.

Thursday evening, former Capitals teammate Brooks Laich saw Ovechkin’s video and had some great advice for the Russian machine.

“Pay your bills buddy haha!” wrote Laich.

Indeed, Brooks. Indeed.

Meanwhile, last night during the game, one of our readers drove by Ovechkin’s house and snapped a photo. This is what they saw.

The ladder was still there.
