Over the course of the regular season, there are games that come along that you probably don’t care about very much. Some weeknight game against some team you are largely indifferent to. Well, tonight is not one of those games. Tonight we’ve got two of the top teams from the best division in hockey squaring off. On top of that, these two teams have a history of dislike that goes back decades. Tonight, my friends, is what we call a doozy. Buckle up, let’s go.
The game is at 8 pm on NBCSN. Yes, an actual rivalry on rivalry night.

Hall of Fame
We are excited to announce Pearl Jam will be inducted into the @RockHall of Fame! #PearlJam #RockHall2017 pic.twitter.com/EkxGCtKtNM

As expected, Pearl Jam will be inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Here’s a few Pearl Jam facts for you:
- Of the band’s first five albums, “Ten” is the worst.
- Of the band’s second five albums, the self-titled “avocado” album is the only one that can hold a candle to any of the first five albums.
- “Dissident” is the most overrated Pearl Jam song.
- When it comes to studio recordings, based off of the strength of the “Into the Wild” soundtrack and “Ukelele Songs,” Eddie Vedder would be better served going solo at this point. But when it comes to live bands, man am I glad these guys are still together.
- There’s no better opening to any concert by any band than when Pearl Jam opens with “Release”
Storylines
- Feel good story makes you feel good so read it.
- Here’s a story that will make you feel even gooder.
- All of the Caps’ defenders want to play with Dmitry Orlov.
- Is age finally catching up with Alex Ovechkin?
- Justin Williams has helped out the first line.
- Braden Holtby’s new hat is tremendous.
- The goalies down in Hershey have new designs on those things that protect their heads from flying pucks.
All the time in the world
Today is the shortest day of the year in terms of sunlight, yet we’ve got to wait an extra hour for Caps hockey. What are you going to do to help pass the time?
