Caps beats Canucks 3-0 on Star Trek Night, Kirk out!

Set your phasers for fun! The Caps engaged the Canucks for a Sunday evening throwdown and won 3-0.

After seven games lost in the frontier, Alex Ovechkin beamed himself onto the scoresheet with an Ovi Shot from the Ovi Spot. Justin Williams, aided by Kuznetsov, fired a photon torpedo into the ‘Nucks net in the third. With an empty net, Tom Wilson lived long and prospered with an empty-netter.

Vancouver gave it all she’s got but did not score, which was highly illogical. Meanwhile, Braden Holtby played out of his vulcan mind, recording his second shutout of the season.

And with that, the Canucks were done. Resistance was futile.

Meanwhile, Marcus Johansson committed another penalty, putting him on pace for a career high 18 PIMs this season. TJ Oshie nearly had a goal in the final minute, but it got washed out for goalie interference.

Also, it was Star Trek night at Verizon Center! Evidence below from The Horn Guy, who is suuuuch a klingon.
