Jakub Vrana scored his first NHL goal Friday. That was cool and all, but my favorite moment happened when Caps backup goaltender Philipp Grubauer got mousetrapped late in the third period.
The offending player was Tom Wilson, who knocked over the twine with his stick. Later, Wilson pied Vrana in the face because I guess he was very focused on antagonizing his teammates tonight.
Grubauer instagrammed a photo after the game.
For those of you who are not hip to my slang of mousetrapping, I went ahead and created a definition for you.
Mousetrap (noun) – the act of pushing the net up and over the goalie’s head so that he becomes stuck under it not unlike in that popular Hasbro board game.
