We’ve got a milestone alert, people.
2014 first-round pick Jakub Vrana just scored his first NHL goal and he can thank Evgeny Kuznetsov for how easy it was.

After a successful carry-in to the offensive zone, Kuznetsov skated around Jake McCabe before going hard to the net. Cody Franson dove to try and take away the pass to the slot, but somehow Kuznetsov found Vrana anyway.
Vrana deftly directed the one-time pass past Robin Lehner to give the Caps a 2-0 lead. Vrana’s first tally came in his fifth game in the NHL.
Kuznetsov made sure to pick up the milestone puck.

Suffice to say, Vrana’s teammates were excited – maybe more so than the young Czech. Alex Ovechkin gave Vrana’s helmet a loving pat as he entered the team’s celebratory hug.
Vrana got mobbed by several players, including TJ Oshie, as he went down the high-five line.
A few minutes later, CSN captured Vrana sharing a laugh with Ovechkin on the bench.
“I mean it’s the greatest feeling, you know?” Vrana said to CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Craig Laughlin when asked about the goal at intermission. “Two games before, I had so many shots on net. It just didn’t go in. I’m so happy this one go in.”
Vrana gave credit to Kuznetsov for the goal.
“He make a hell of a play there,” Vrana said. “I had an empty net. I give him credit for this so it was a great play.”
Vrana also hoped his parents had the game on back home in the Czech Republic.
“I hope they’re watching. It’s very late there.”
