After giving up 17 unanswered shots and three unanswered goals to the Bruins, the Capitals looked poised for an epic collapse. Instead the Caps Swedes happened.
Nicklas Backstrom scored 1:36 into three-on-three overtime to give the Caps a much needed 4-3 victory.

The goal was classic Backstrom. After patiently waiting out Tuukka Rask, Backstorm exploited Rask’s five-hole to secure the game-winning tally.
Marcus Johansson’s nifty pass set into motion a lovely give-and-go sequence between Backstrom and Nate Schmidt.
The goal was Backstrom’s 26th career game-winning tally to boot.
Needless to say, the bench was excited.
Thank you, Based Backy.
