Caps mascot ‘accidentally’ slams birthday cake into Penguins fan’s face

The Washington Capitals demoralized the Penguins on the ice, but off of it, it appears they did much of the same to their fans.

According to reader Sean G, late in the third period, Slapshot walked down to the lower bowl to celebrate young Timmy’s birthday. Slapshot gave Timmy some Caps swag and tried to present him with a birthday cake. Instead a blond Pens fan ran down the steps and began flashing her jersey to the camera in an attempt to steal the spotlight. Caps game entertainment workers can be seen trying to shoo her away to no avail.

Slapshot took matters into his own hands.

“Well, it seems like someone else got Timmy’s birthday cake,” PA Announcer Wes Johnson says over the loudspeaker to Caps fans delight. “But I think that’s an okay present for Timmy as well.”

Yes, Slapshot slammed the birthday cake into the Penguins fan’s face. She was a good sport about it however (maybe or maybe not because it was staged).

The other MVP of this segment is the Caps fan who stood up, turned his back to the camera, and revealed his number 87 Pens Suck jersey.
