Hello again my friends. The Caps come into this matchup in Columbus after getting embarrassed by the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 last Saturday. But fear not Caps fans, Barry Trotz has, uh, optimized his lines. #FirstLineBeagle is back and ready to pounce on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Meanwhile the Jackets have bizarrely scored eight or more goals twice over the last five games yet sit four points away from the cellar of the Metropolitan division. They are both bad and dangerous at the same time. Also, here’s your daily reminder that John Tortorella sucks.
Puck drop is at 7 on CSN and your various streaming outlets.
| Team | Record | Possession | PDO | Power Play | Penalty Kill |
| Columbus Blue Jackets | 7-4-2 | 47.27% | 103.9 | 33.3% | 83.3% |
| Washington Capitals | 9-4-1 | 54.07% | 102.1 | 12.5% | 80.5% |

Storylines
- You need to buy RMNB’s new fugly holiday sweater right now.
- These Alex Ovechkin points counter bobbleheads are so awesome.
- The Caps penalty killers are going to be challenged by the league’s best power plays in their next two games.
- Alex Ovechkin went to the Redskins game wearing a Kirk Cousins jersey.
- This girl from the UAE has better hands than you. Great story.
- Andre Burakovsky and Daniel Winnik’s bulldog are now bffs.
- Jay Beagle has been practicing on the top line, giving many Caps fans flashbacks to a time where we heard Enrique Iglesias, I mean Peter Hassett, sing us quite the song.
- Mia Khalifa is commenting on our Instagram posts now.
- Ian shared a sonogram photo of the #RMNBBaby. He says its intangibles are through the roof – it has a good motor and doesn’t stop kicking his wife.
- TJ Oshie and Tom Wilson are still strange.
National clean out your refrigerator day
Today, November 15th is officially “National clean out your refrigerator day”.
So everyone get to your refrigerators, make use of whatever leftovers you still have left, ration out about a week’s worth of food, and scrub down the space left.
It’s Thanksgiving in a week and two days. Preparation is key people.
Fall
Since we’re starting to actually feel some fall type weather in the DMV, I thought this would be appropriate before this season is all but forgotten in a week or so. My personal top 5 favorite things about fall.
- My birthday (October 11)
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving
- Sweet turkey hand drawings
- No class for 3 days
