Nate Schmidt is having a great start to the 2016-17 season, but Friday night in Chicago, the Schmiduation is dire. Nate will be the first of the Caps’ top-six defenseman to sit so the Chorn Horn can sound.
Let’s see how The Human Emoji is taking the news.

The fun starts at the 4:02 mark.
Schmidt appears to be as happy and as fun as ever before.
After the Caps’ optional morning skate ended, Schmidt video-bombed the interview.
Oh hi, Nate!
And then the yelling. We have to talk about the yelling.
An offscreen Capital in the locker room screeched, “MIKE VOGEL. THREE SIX FIVE. SILVER FOX.”
Caps captain Alex Ovechkin followed that up (we think) in Russian with “а ведь орловский я,” which means in English “But I am Orlovsky!”
This team, man.
