Tuesday, the Washington Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, took the mannequin challenge after practice and it turned out fantastic.
For those who have not been hip to the happenings of the internet for the last week, the Mannequin Challenge involves a group of people being completely still in mid-action poses often while playing a song (like “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmud). It’s taken the internet by storm. Celebrities, athletes, students and even Hillary Clinton have joined in on this viral craze.

The camera starts out on the ice where one Bears defenseman lays out to try and block a Jakub Vrana shot.
As Troy Mann (who’s blinking -tsk tsk) looks out into the offensive zone, two Bears are fighting in the neutral zone, one of which is throwing a haymaker. We then walk down the runway and into the locker room where Paul Carey tapes a stick, Zach Sill throws his shin tape towards the trash can, and Liam O’Brien dabs.
The best part of the video however is subtle and in the background. One player, who appears to be Nathan Walker, sits inside the bench of his locker stall while still wearing his helmet.
Great work, guys.
