Breaking: Alex Ovechkin is still popular among ice hockey fans 11 years after his debut in the NHL. Tuesday night, the NHL announced that the Capitals captain’s jersey was the 9th most bought jersey among all players in the month of October.

The usual suspects like Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Henrik Lundqvist, and PK Subban also join Ovechkin in the top 10. There is also no surprise that young, up and coming superstars Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews have seen their jerseys fly off the shelves in their respective Canadian cities.
My one question however is who the heck is buying a Claude Giroux jersey over an Alex Ovechkin jersey?
