It’s a scary time of year. No better place for that than Vancouver, the city where a pair of decrepit, identical ghouls shamble north and south on a team that is undead but doesn’t know it.
Despite a .500 record early on, the Canucks are probably in for some suffering this season. But that doesn’t mean they won’t be dangerous against the Caps tonight. Doomed hero Loui Eriksson has some life in him still, and the Caps’ special teams have a dark secret (they’re bad).

- Chris sets the stage for two teams in rough shape about to run into each other at full speed.
- Daniel Winnik will sit for the first time ever. Brett Connolly and Zach Sanford will get ice time.
- Braden Holtby will have the night off, so he’ll definitely play against Calgary on Sunday.
- Top line right wing Justin Williams on the dramatic forward line changes: “The coaching staff feels something fresh is going to happen.” Mmmkay.
- The Caps have played 6 games. The Canucks and most of the rest of the league have played 8. Early trips to Western Canada throw everything off.
