For those of you who saw the second episode of ABC’s Designated Survivor Wednesday, you were in for a real treat.
Kiefer Sutherland gave props to Washington Capitals fans and the atmosphere at Verizon Center.

Sutherland is President Tom Kirkman.
Emily Rhodes: Tom? Sorry. Mr. President.
President Tom Kirkman: I just needed to find somewhere quiet.
Aaron Shore: Admittedly, it got a little loud in there.
President Tom Kirkman: Loud? A Caps game is loud, Aaron. Back there in the Oval Office, that was chaos. We need order. We need system or this is never going to work.
Caps PA Announcer Wes Johnson was very excited.
Kiefer Sutherland said "#Caps games are loud" on @ABCDesignated! Cool. Drop in & see us sometime Mr. President; we'll UNLEASH.

The premise of the show is fascinating. Sutherland plays Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member (Secretary of Housing and Urban Development) who unexpectedly becomes president after a devastating attack on Washington, D.C. Kirkman struggles to prevent the country and his own family from falling into chaos, and is thrust into one of the most difficult presidencies in history.

The second episode begins with President Kirkman stepping into his new role as commander in chief.
The quote really makes me happy. Sure President Obama hasn’t come to a Caps game yet, but this fictional president portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland appears to have gone to like 30. Those are some politics I can get behind.
