Rosters, schedule, and rules for the RMNB Floor Hockey Tournament

At 3pm Saturday, some of the best (and worst) floor hockey players in the DMV area will play for the coveted GR8 Missing Tooth Trophy at the Michael & Son SportPlex in Rockville.

We sold out the game — 88 of you will be playing during the seven-hour tournament — and the rosters and schedule have been posted by DCHL Commissioner Suds. Let’s take a quick look at the teams.

I’m captaining Team RMNB and it’s quickly becoming obvious that we are the worst team in the REC Division. If the format didn’t require every team in the conference to play in the playoffs, we likely wouldn’t qualify. RMNB authors Chris Cerullo, Chris Gordon, and Spenser Smallwood will be breathing heavily alongside fellow bloggers David Stevenson of Fansided and Ben Lutz of The Hockey Writers. There’s definitely not much skill on our team and our will to win will be very low because we’d rather be in our basements blogging. Wish us the best of luck.

As for other teams in the tournament, I don’t have much good analysis to give on them just like other NHL teams that aren’t the Capitals.

Just as a reminder, a stick and shin pads are required to play. My stick is this Easton Stealth because of course.

You also should probably wear a helmet and have hockey gloves, but those aren’t required. If you take photos, please tag them with the hashtag #RMNBHockeyTourney. The rest of your questions are answered here.

Every player will receive a free large pizza coupon donated to us by Papa John’s. Please make sure to ask me for one. Also your name will be on Ryan Ellis’s NASCAR racecar in the Dover Xfinity Race on October 1.

Finally, RMNB’s very own Rachel Cohen will have a booth set up with a lot of never before seen RMNB merch and some of her own art. Bring some cash because you’re going to want some of this stuff.

See you tomorrow and make sure to CRASH THE NET.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
