Friday evening, democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton announced Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as her running mate. A few hours later, something strange happened.
Rapper MC Hammer tweeted congratulations to Kaine by posting a photo of the two together at a Caps game.
Tim Kaine is an excellent choice !!! Good man. Here with my Brother Raul Fernandez. #ClintonKaine 💯💯💯💯 @Iam360WISE pic.twitter.com/f5k3owvlsm

You can’t make this stuff up.
The senator and the U Can’t Touch This star were guests of co-owner Raul Fernandez during the April 23 Caps/Jets game at Verizon Center. The Caps clinched the 2013 Southeast Division championship that night. It was the second time MC Hammer had been to a Caps game that season.
In the video, Kaine can be seen wearing an Ovechkin Caps jersey while waving to the crowd.
And that’s not Kaine’s only documented connection to the Capitals. He also personally signed off on the Caps’ VA license plate design, according to this Politico story from 2009.
