Tuesday, Washington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov was busy volunteering his time, serving as a guest instructor at Pavel Datsyuk’s Skill Development Camp. With all that magic under one roof, I’m surprised the hockey rink didn’t implode.
Datsyuk, who retired from the NHL and signed a two-year deal with Ska St. Petersberg 11 days ago, thanked Kuznetsov for his contribution on his Twitter account.

Datsyuk also posted this photo of Kuznetsov posing with the campers on his Facebook page.

Kuznetsov and Datsyuk have long been linked due to their other-worldly skill. It also appears the two are becoming close friends. In December, the Russians had dinner together in DC. In an interview with RMNB during his first Development Camp with the Capitals, Kuznetsov said Datsyuk was one of his favorite hockey players.
“I can’t compare myself to any famous player because he’s already been playing, already accomplished something,” Kuznetsov said in 2010. “I can only say who I admire, who I watch. I watch Malkin, Datsyuk, how they play, and try to do the same.”
Meanwhile, former Capitals defenseman Connor Carrick appeared jealous on Twitter that he was not eligible to attend Datsyuk’s camp.
I want to go to this. https://t.co/6mE1sAD0lL
