In February, I spoke to soon-to-be-former Capital Michael Latta and we chatted about his one-time roommate, Andre Burakovsky.
“He’s a little shy,” Latta said. “He’s a shy, cute, little guy.” Latta then went on to explain how the Burracuda was afraid to swim with the dolphins in the Bahamas.
That may explain Latta’s reaction Tuesday afternoon to a photo Burakovsky posted on Instagram. While holding up his dukes, Burakovsky, a veteran of 0 NHL fights, posed in front of a punching bag, looking tough.
Latta was not impressed. “LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL,” he commented on the picture.
Beyond wrestling, Latta and former roommate Tom Wilson have put countless hours into trying to teach the Caps skill forwards how to defend themselves. Burakovsky even tried to show his mettle in a scrum with Radko Gudas during the first round of the playoffs, that did not end very well.
The most odd thing in the picture to me is the fact that Burakovsky was wearing a sneaker on his right foot and bizarrely a croc, with a sock (!), on his left.
I mean, who does that?
1AM Update: Tom Wilson has also left a comment.
Thanks to @Summer4Paige for giving me a heads up.
