Alex Ovechkin had a subtle change made to his Bauer Supreme 1S sticks. In a delivery two weeks ago, Bauer published an Instagram photo Ovi’s newly-delivered black and gold twigs. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Ovi’s Nike number 8 logo has been added to the stick.

The Russian machine has been using them in games already.

As someone who pays close attention to hockey equipment, I don’t recall off the top of my head a previous example of a player’s own logo being a part of a stick design. I guess when you score 500 goals though, you can do trailblazing things.

Ovi’s nickname is still spelled Ovie, which let’s ignore.

Evgeny Kuznetsov also got some new gear ahead of the playoffs.

More #Vapor1X protective gear showing up across the league! @kuzy092 is ready to go!
