The Caps-Pens game became a complete gong show in the second period and surprise, surprise, Sidney Crosby was in the middle of it.
The testiness began after an official whistled a play dead when he lost sight of the puck. Crosby had scored on the rebound, but the goal would be disallowed.
Crosby slammed his stick into the glass.

He’s not a spoiled child, but he’s a spoiled child.
Crosby was not whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Off the very next face-off, the Pens generated another chance. Braden Holtby made the save but Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist speared the Holtbeast while he lay sprawled on the ice. Karl Alzner shoved Hornqvist in defense of his goaltender and a brawl erupted.
Sidney Crosby joined the melee and started taking cheap shots at TJ Oshie through an official.
Oshie was having none of it.
I’m not a fan of violence, but TJ Oshie is my hero now anyway.
Crosby was not penalized. Oshie was given a two-minute minor for roughing. I don’t understand that one.
And that, in a nutshell, is why I hate the Penguins.
