Former Capitals forward Troy Brouwer had something very strange happen during the Blues’ Saturday match-up against the Stars. As Brouwer looked to gain entry into the offensive zone, his stick got caught in Antoine Roussel’s legs. Roussel responded rationally: by throwing Brouwer’s stick into the crowd.
But that wasn’t even the weirdest part.
it's a penalty to throw your own stick into the crowd, but i suppose not if it's your opponent's stick pic.twitter.com/xWl63veGw2

Several Stars fans got their hands on Brouwer’s twig. They decided to decide possession by having a tug-of-war.
