He’s still wearing a mouth guard wwith the Caps logo on it.
Wednesday night, Brooks Laich made his grand return to Washington, three days after being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. As has been customary for long-time players, the Caps aired a tribute video during the first TV timeout.
Laich, who was emotional at the bench, received a loud standing ovation from the crowd. He began clapping back at Caps fans to acknowledge his appreciation.

Before the game, Laich took warmups out of the visitor’s tunnel as dozens of fans clapped for him. Laich whacked the glass as he skated along the boards to acknowledge the signs honoring him.
