We have the habit of making tribute videos after long-time Caps leave the organization. See our past diddies for Alex Semin, Mike Green, and Eric Fehr. It’s our way of saying thank you.
This time we’re doing it a little bit different. Brooks Laich’s trade hit RMNB reader Sean Morrow especially hard last night. So he stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to make this video for Brooks.
It’s set to literally the perfect song. Take it away, Sean.
Brooks Laich was one of the faces of our team for many years here and it’s crushing to see him leave after so many seasons. He was always a favorite of my family’s- I remember cheering out loud in the car with my mom and brother during a road trip after we had gotten a text notification that Brooks had been signed for another six years, because we were just thrilled that our favorite player was staying for the long haul. I was lucky enough to meet him a number of times at practices and team events, and he was always one of the warmest and friendliest guys toward the fans. My family and I will miss Brooks immensely, and no matter how well the team may do in the spring, it will be bittersweet without him after how much he gave to the Caps organization over 12 years. I think I speak for the entire Capitals community in wishing Brooks the best of luck in Toronto.
Well done.
