Brooks Laich has a penchant for being generous after losses. Back in 2010, Laich changed a flat tire for two Caps fans who were stranded on the side of the road. He did this despite a devastating game seven loss to the Canadiens, which ended the Caps’ President Trophy-winning season early.
Wednesday night following another loss to the Habs, Laich and his fiancée Julianne Hough stopped by Don Tito, a popular establishment in Clarendon among Caps players. The couple was served by Rian Hannah Hopcroft.
Laich and Hough had a few tacos and drinks before departing, but not before leaving a huge tip and a cute message to the seven-month pregnant Hopcroft, a soon-to-be-single mother.
The couple left a $100 tip on a $24 meal, as well as the note “Good luck to you, much love!” (Please note: restaurants and bars typically give discounts to athletes because their presence can increase business.)
Hopcroft, who called Laich and Hough “the sweetest couple ever,” cried upon seeing the gift.
That’s just another reminder that this team is the best.
Thanks to Saam B. for the heads up.
