Everybody knows Tom Wilson is always looking for a big hit. That’s why, when Wilson zeroed in on Habs forward Tomas Fleischmann for a big bodycheck in the first period, Flash had to protect himself somehow
Fleischmann chose to spear Tom Wilson. You know where.
This looks painful.
Poor guy. At least the play-by-play was funny.
“There’s the skewer,” Craig Laughlin said. “That could go on the barbecue. He was hurting. He could barely skate, Joe, to the bench on that play.”
“I’d be calling mommy and walking out on my knees,” Joe Beninati replied. “My voice would rise a few octaves. Holy moly, that looked very uncomfortable.”
Flash was not penalized on the play. Tom may not be able to walk upright tomorrow. But in perfect hockey form Wilson didn’t miss a shift.
