The Capitals’ historical, magical, cinnamon-roll-tastic regular-season continues as we approach the trade deadline. The Caps got an early start on their deadline moves by picking up Mike Weber from the Buffalo Sabres last night. Weber, probably a spare part for a hopefully long playoff run, won’t see action tonight; he’s on baby watch. In the meantime, the Habs are in town, primed to give the Capitals their 45th win of the season.
Game’s 7 PM on CSN unless you’re at Verizon Center, in which case it’ll be right in front of you. I’ll be doing your in-game coverage and recap duty, and I’m a bit under the weather today, so please be gentle with me.

Storylines
- Marcus Johansson is questionable for tonight due to illness. I feel that.
- There’s not enough cap room to re-activate Jay Beagle.
- The Mike Richards goal is one of my favorite things about a season already packed with favorite things.
- Tom Wilson and OEL hugged after that goal. Very sweet.
- Getting to know Mike Weber, who I doubt will play much unless someone is hurt.
- We hit you with a double dose of cute Michael Latta stories. Signed a ketchup bottle, BAM. Dolphin interview, BAM.
- For the record, I don’t think cetaceans should be kept in captivity because they’re basically people-level smart. Maybe even smarter than people.
- More like Scotty No-mez.
- The Penguins have called up your boy Steve Oleksy. Do the thing, Steve.
- There is a guinea pig named Alex Ovechkin available for adoption.
- Finally, our buddy Dim has some news to share.
Have some exciting life news to share. From now on you’ll be able to read my work on the @Sportsnet platform, which I think is pretty cool.
