Appreciation is the theme of the day. We know now that the Caps are in the midst of a historically bright season, but the ominous shadow of the postseason lurks in the distance. Some folks bask in the brightness; others obsess on the oncoming storm. But what kind of sad sack can’t appreciate a sunny day just because it might rain 45 days from now?

(Apologies for the hackneyed rhetorical question. The answer is professional sports pundits, obviously.)

Here at RMNB and other enlightened corners of the Caps internet, we know better. Today is a lovely February day. The Caps are gonna whip the Coyotes later. Let’s all watch it together and smile because this is some wild stuff we’re seeing right now.

I watched Chef this weekend (highly recommended! Netflix!) and now I have strong opinions. There can be no debate on the following.

    1. Al Pesto
    2. Aglio e Olio
    3. Con Polpette
    4. Marinara
    5. Broken Glass
    6. Alfredo
    7. Ragu

Please post your dissenting comments on someone else’s website. Here you should just say “Peter is right” and move on with your miserable day, you primitive screwheads.

    • Marcus Johansson has a case of the ol’ north and south, as my grandma would say.
    • Evgeny Kuznetsov’s signature move is now called the twister. Get with the program.
    • The Caps could basically secure a playoff spot this week. Senpai Dan Steinberg has some choice words about appreciating regular-season success.
    • The Caps aren’t storming out of the gates, but their comeback style is primo.
    • Pat’s Sunday Snapshot was the best Sunday Snapshot yet.
    • John Scott won’t be suiting up for the Coyotes tonight because he doesn’t play for that team anymore, or any NHL team for that matter. This probably isn’t a storyline after all. Sorry for wasting your time.
    • Jay Beagle is practicing and this is what his hand looks like, yechh
